Ups and Downs

As we all know, life is full of ups and downs. If only every day would be an “up” day. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Jack is doing well with his rehab program, but there are times when his hard work makes him feel a bit nauseous or dizzy. Such is the case as I write this. He had a good day, made some great strides, but then he felt exhausted and nauseous after a hard day’s work. Guess that’s to be expected, but we hope it eases up soon.

The good news is that Jack has done some remarkable things during therapy this week. He was able to raise his right arm and feed himself…with the help of his therapist, but how awesome is that? He also sat up for seven hours yesterday (as compared to just an hour less than two weeks ago), and he was able to sit up by himself today and use his arms to balance and hold himself in place.

We’re so proud of Jack’s determination and positive attitude. He has inspired us all beyond belief. And even when the chips are down, he still manages to keep a smile on his face.

Amazing.

He moved his right arm this time. He’s moved both his arms during this one week, that’s remarkable progress. It’ll be a long road, but he’s already made a lot of progress. Just being able to feed himself is a huge step. The sitting up is a huge step as well, it means his spinal cord/back is strenghtening. He’s out do do great things, God only gives people what they can handle. He’s strong enough to get through this. BEL13VE.
